Where is the best beach in Key West?

Well, the answer is offshore. Yep, that’s right. The island of Key West itself is protected by a massive Coral Barrier Reef (the third largest in the world) and because of this protection the surrounding waters are relatively calm and flat. Without the crashing waves needed to create fine sand, the ocean’s edge is quite rocky and not the smooth sand you envision when you think of famous Florida beaches.

Although there are several beautiful man made beaches in Key West, the best beaches are among the outer barrier islands, those islands are exposed to enough of the elements that over time they have been able do develop that beautiful soft sand beach-goers are looking for. So if you want to find yourself catching some rays on these beautiful beaches, you’ll need to get there by boat. Seas The Day Charters offers private island excursions for groups of up to 10 people. You'll enjoy about a 30-minute scenic boat ride from our location at Garrison Bight Marina in Key West to the nearer barrier island beaches.

Once you’re there be like Zac Brown: put your toes in the water, ass in the sand… Have no worries in the world, and a cold beer in your hand!

Hope to get you out there!
